Zeekr has previewed a new crossover SUV in China which it chose to name the ‘X’, straying from its usual three-digit naming convention. It was left unsaid what kind of powertrain the X would ship with, although everything pointed to an all-electric one.
Judging by the shots, the design team went for a new design with this model. This is especially apparent in new, more angular headlights and reshaped DRLs. Each headlight unit contains 41 LEDs.
The side are sculpted in sporty way, and the c-pillar looks especially original in combination with a contrasting roof. The shoulder line raises sharply towards the rear end, reducing the greenhouse size. The tailgate is also rather small, and there are tiny invisible sensors where the handles are supposed to be.
It looks like the Zeekr X is an all-electric SUV capable of 3- or 4-second sprint time. The release states it is 4,450 mm long, 1,836 mm wide and 1,572 mm tall with 2,750 mm between the axles, making it much larger than the Smart #1 it is based upon.
The full premiere is expected at the Shanghai Auto Show in April.
