Chinese automaker Zeekr has released its compact “X” crossover in Thailand with the steering wheel on the right-hand side. Prices start from 1.2 million Thai Baht, Car News China reports.
While moving around the steering controls, the company has also updated the firmware to grant the local customers access to the same range of web-based services as in China.
There will be two main specifications on sale in the country. The base version will use a single electric motor rated at 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW) and a battery that should be enough for 560 km (348 miles) of range.
The more expensive version starting from 1.35 million Thai Baht will additionally have a 156-PS (154-hp / 110-kW) motor on the rear axle. It will sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds (down from the 5.8 seconds of the single-motor variant) and cover 500 km (310 miles) on a charge.
Zeekr currently has four showrooms in Bangkok, and hopes to increase their number to 14 by the end of the year. Ultimately, the company has plans to expand onto as many as 50 foreign markets in Europe, Latin America and Southeastern Asia. Sales in Laos and Myanmar are already running, with Cambodia set to be the next in line.
