Zenvo sets a premiere date for its new 1,850-PS hypercar

Danish supercar maker Zenvo is getting a new model named Aurora ready to rumble. It will utilize a hybrid powertrain based on a 6.6-liter V12 rated at 1,850 PS (1,825 hp / 1,361 kW) and is set to debut on August 18, 2023.

All we have so far are these engine photos. The block has been co-designed between Zenvo and Mahle with an aluminum casing, some carbon-fiber internals and four turbos. It can reportedly rev up to 9,800 RPM and pump out up to 1,250 PS (1,233 hp / 919 kW). Note the markings saying ‘Mjølner’: it seems that the company chose to name the engine after the hammer wielded by Thor, the God of Thunder in Scandinavian mythology.

The manufacturer said it hoped the powertrain would fully comply with all the current and future regulations in Europe. Even if it turns out to be not the case, the company put an emphasis on making it modular. This means that similar engines may easily be designed based on it with eight or just six cylinders. Last but not least, the company said it did not rule out the possibility of selling such engines to third-party automakers.

No other details about the Aurora hypercar have been revealed yet. Zenvo’s previous creation was named TSR-GT and debuted in last November (see the rest of the gallery below and the video for a closer look).
