900 PS, forged wheels and low suspension: Manhart upgrades the BMW M5

The latest BMW M5 has both the output and the performance of a supercar, but the folks over at Manhart reckoned it could use a boost to its 727-PS (717-hp / 535-kW) hybrid system.

Leaving the e-motor alone, they equipped the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with larger turbos, adjustable valves, a new exhaust manifold and their own external ECU. With all said and done, the car slammed the dyno with 909 PS (897 hp / 669 kW) and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque.

To help manage the monster they created, Manhart lowered the suspension, installed carbon-ceramic brakes from the BMW M catalogue, and put 22-inch lightweight forged rims into the arches. They also put on a body kit consisting of a front spoiler, side winglets and skirts, and a rather aggressive-looking rear diffuser.

As per the tradition, the gloss-black M5 was adorned with pale-gold Manhart decals. As iconic as these seem to be for the German tuner, we’ve seen a lot of works lately where they were either omitted or applied in a different color. Feel free to contact Manhart for details, they certainly have more accessories and options for the M5 in store than can possibly be shown here.
