Cadillac’s three-pedal CT5-V Blackwing gets a boost to 791 PS

Callaway, a tuning company with headquarters in Connecticut, USA, has unveiled a new tuning program for the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing. Owners can get up to 114 extra horsepower with either of the model’s two available transmissions.

Straight out of the factory, the saloon is by no means underpowered thanks to a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 sending 677 PS (668 hp / 498 kW) to the wheels. However, with Callaway replacing the supercharger with its in-house-designed GenFour version, the output goes up to 791 PS (780 hp / 582 kW). At the same time, the torque rises to 912 Nm (673 lb-ft).

Additional components involved in the tuning include a TripleCooled intercooler, a carbon-fiber hood with an air scoop on top, and custom engine lids.

The company points out that most of those who dared to tune Cadillac’s fiery CT5-V defaulted to the 10-speed automatic transmission as the safer option. In contrast, Callaway offers a sportier experience to stick-shift enthusiasts, allowing them to be in control of their gear at all times.

No pricing details have been revealed, but the production is said to be already underway. Earlier this spring, the automaker itself unveiled a special edition of the CT5-V Blackwing inspired by Formula 1. It ended up with a moderate power boost to 695 PS (685 hp / 511 kW).
