A particularly over-the-top sixth-generation Chevy Corvette equipped with a bolt-on widebody kit will cross the auction block at Mecum Nashville in September. Chassis upgrades and a new supercharged V8 suggest that it’s poised to bring home six figures.
The project was carried out between Gi Automotive Group and Car Porn Racing using a Black Manta aero kit (see video). The grotesquely flared fenders add whopping 335 millimeters (14 inches) to the body width at the rear end and 306 millimeters (12 inches) at the front end. They are accompanied by a pronounced front splitter, a massive rear bumper with a built-in diffuser and a tall, fixed rear wing. Everything is made from naked carbon fiber.
At an unspecified moment of its life, this ‘Vette traded its stock engine for a 6.2-liter LS9 V8 rated at 647 PS (638 hp / 476 kW) and 820 Nm (604 lb-ft) of torque when new. The listing mentions an Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump, so the actual output could be even a little higher than that.
To ensure that the rest of the car holds up with its newfound power, it received LG coilovers, Pfadt sway bars and 20-inch DPE wheels measuring 13 inches wide at the rear end. That’s no mere coincidence: the coupe looks like a serious drag racing machine.
Somewhat alarmingly, the listing doesn’t mention any technical concerns with the car while the “Check engine” and TPMS lights are both on in the photos provided. Compounded with the considerable 25,443 kilometers (15,810 miles) of use on the odometer, it makes for a worthwhile investigation point for anyone interested in purchasing this one-off build.
