Lixiang L9 facelift spotted on a parking lot

The full-size Lixiang L9 SUV is getting ready for a major update, auto.ru reports citing its own sources. We are promised more interior room and superior battery range, among other things.

Based on the report of the spy photographer who made these photos, the hybrid crossover now spans 5.3 meters (207 inches) long – about 100 mm (4 inches) longer than before the facelift. It also rides on larger 21-inch wheels and features a compact LiDAR hump above the windshield.

On the technical front, insiders claim the SUV will receive a new 73-kWh battery pack to replace its current 52.3-kWh one. If the currently available hybrid gets around 290 km (180 miles) of all-electric range from a full charge, the facelift version should be good for 400 km (248 miles) or so.

We also hear that the new Lixiang L9 will feature rear-wheel steering in the base spec, reducing its turn radius and making it more manageable in city conditions. All powertrain specs remain to be announced, though.
