Chery unveils iCar GT sports car, iCar 03 SUV

Shortly before the opening of the Shanghai Auto Show, Chery dispensed with the mystery and took the wraps off two new concept cars, at least one of which is destined to go into production. The iCar GT is an all-electric coupe, while the 03 is an SUV capable of hybrid and battery-electric propulsion.

The two-door ride has doors that swing open upwards and slightly to the front, T-shaped headlights and a dynamic profile. Notable features inside include a new steering wheel, a ‘floating’ console with cup holders and a large infotainment screen. Chery never said it was meant for mass production, though.

As for the iCar 03, it is 4.2 meters long, 1.83 meters wide and 1.7 meters tall with 2.7 meters between the axles (inches: 164 x 71.5 x 66.4 and 105.5). In its production form the 03 will be available as a full-on electric car and as a range-extender hybrid.
