Lincoln Navigator transitions into next generation

Lincoln calls its updated Navigator SUV “next-gen”, but it still rides on the same chassis and uses the same 3.5-liter V6 with 446 PS (440 hp / 328 kW) as the old generation. The sales will begin next spring, but let’s take a look at the spec in the meantime.

Inside, a curved 48-inch display now spans almost the entire width of the dashboard, and a separate 11.1-inch multimedia screen can be seen below. The infotainment system comes loaded with Google Services straight from the factory. A new two-spoke steering wheel and a revamped center console with wooden trim in it round off the cockpit design. The seats at the front offer heating, ventilation and massage features, as well as 30-way power adjustments (up from 24-way).

A special feature called Rejuvenate can be engaged when the SUV is parked. It leverages the ambient lighting, massage, air freshener and multimedia features to help everyone inside the car reduce fatigue. The individual seats in the middle row also benefit from heating and ventilation, while the back row makes do with just heating. Last but not least, the base trim level now includes the latest version of Lincoln’s BlueCruise advanced cruise control system. The same goes for adaptive suspension.

As we said above, the powertrain stays unchanged. It means that a turbo six-cylinder engine still sends the same power and torque to all four wheels via a 10-speed AT.
