Porsche 911 rally build on sale for $55k
Original Porsche 911 Dakar models may occasionally cost a third of a million USD if not more, so enthusiasts usually set their sights on cheaper custom builds. One such is up for grabs on the Porsche Palm Springs website in the United States right now, for a modest asking price of $54,900.
The car is 22 years old and features a brush guard at the front end, towing eyes, LED bars at both ends, and robust-looking aftermarket wheels shod in off-road tires. The decals at the sides say “Valkyrie”, so that’s probably the name of the project. An aftermarket rack on the roof houses a full-fledged spare wheel.
The interior is minimal and largely left as is. The engine seems to be standard, too, with the listing pointing out nearly 130,000 km (a touch over 80,000 miles) of use.
