Audi unveils the new Q5

The third generation of the Audi Q5 is finally here with all the specifications and prices. Sales in Europe will begin in the first quarter of 2025, but you can already place a preorder for a total from €52,300 to €82,900 depending on the trim.

Like its A5 cousin, the new Q5 rides on a new architecture known as the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion). On its domestic market of Europe, it will be available exclusively as a mild hybrid. The system is called MHEV Plus and comprises a small e-motor with 24 PS (24 hp / 18 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque alongside a 1.7-kWh battery.

The base engine can be either 2.0-liter petrol or diesel of the same size. Both are rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW), but while the petrol version gets 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque, the diesel one enjoys 400 Nm (295 lb-ft). The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch in both cases. You can choose between FWD and AWD with the gas engine, while the diesel version goes AWD by default. Last but not least, the sported-up SQ5 spec gets a 3.0-liter V6 mill with 376 PS (371 hp / 277 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft).

Things are looking different for the United States, where the new Q5 will arrive with just two engine options. The 2.0L four-pot outputs 272 PS (268 hp / 200 kW), and its 3.0L counterpart pushes out 367 PS (362 hp / 270 kW). All-wheel drive comes standard with both.
