Madonna’s classic Jaguar heading to auction

H&H Classic, a UK-based retro car dealership, will be auctioning off a rare 1967 Jaguar Mark X in early October said to have belonged to Madonna once. It is a restored version of the latest Mark X model that had only lingered in production for a couple of years. No price estimate is available.

Unlike the earlier Mark X sedans that came equipped with a 3.8-liter engine, the 1964MY version benefits from a larger and more powerful 4.2-liter block borrowed from the manufacturer’s XK series. Since the production only lasted a few years, Jaguar was able to deliver just a little more than 5,000 Mark X units. Compared to its peers, the car packed plenty of innovative design features, such as independent rear wheel suspension.

The listing neglects to say how long Madonna owned this particular example, but it comes with a couple of photos of the singer behind the wheel. Apparently, it was her son who had largely driven this car during his stay in London.

Note that the seller is offering the car on a no-reserve basis, meaning it will be handed over to the highest bidder regardless of the bid amount.
