Manhart boosts BMW M3 Touring to 855 PS because it can

The wagon-shaped BMW M3 is by no means weak with 510 PS (503 hp / 375 kW) at its disposal, but Manhart’s latest upgrades nearly double its output.

The new package is called “MH3 800 Touring”. As the name would imply, the goal was to squeeze eight hundred horsepower from the family-friendly BMW 3-Series. However, the German tuner outdid itself this time around, achieving an impressive 855 PS (843 hp / 629 kW) and 1,090 Nm (804 lb-ft) of torque. That’s more than the part-electric M5 saloon can do, by the way.

From the engineering standpoint, the tuning is rather extensive and involves replacing the intercooler, the entire air intake and exhaust systems, the pistons and the camshafts, all topped by a comprehensive ECU remap. The transmission gets its own share of upgrades, while the ceramic brakes stay stock – Manhart claims they are still adequate.

On the outside, the tuned M3 Touring immediately stands out thanks to Manhart’s iconic black-and-gold color scheme, a bold body kit, Raffa alloys and lowered suspension. The interior makes do with a new headliner and mats.

The car depicted here is actually on sale in Germany right now with an asking price of €211,894. That’s nearly three times as much as a stock M3 Touring costs in the country. If that’s too expensive for you, Manhart will sell you individual parts from the package.
