Owning a Dodge Power Wagon restomod is a matter of ~$0.5M

Back in the late 1940s, the Dodge Power Wagon was the first truck in the United States produced for the mass market. Inspired by WC army trucks, it attained a truly iconic status. Fast-forward to the present day, and Desert Power Wagons LLC has restored one of these for a small fortune.

The work took over 5,000 hours and cost the client an eye-watering $425,000. A custom steel ladder frame had to be fabricated for the project along with many exterior panels. The iconic Power Wagon look is still there, but the fender flares are now offset in black and the side sills are new, among other things. As for the bed lining, natural oak isn’t that special – it was also found in the original.

A Carli 2.5″ Backcountry 2.0 suspension kit was installed to enable up to 243 mm (9.5 inches) of shock travel. A 6.7-liter, six-cylinder Cummins block made it into the engine bay. The setup makes 390 PS (385 hp / 287 kW) and 1,261 Nm (930 lb-ft) of torque that it sends to the wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. It may look like an off-road only build, but the tuner says it handles highways just fine.

Interior additions included heated/ventilated seats, a 12-inch infotainment display, a two-zone climate control system and a JL Audio system.
