Subaru unveils the new Levorg STI Sport

Subaru showed us a prototype of the new Levorg estate/wagon last fall, but the car hasn’t made it into production yet. Now, we know what its performance version looks like.

The Levorg STI Sport debuted at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2020 with precious little information from the manufacturer to go by. Officially confirmed features include adaptive suspension, Drive Mode Select, and EyeSight (safety aids). The latter package now boasts an updated stereo camera, as well as four new sensors built into the bumpers to enhance automatic brake functionality.

The rest remains a mystery for now. In October, Subaru mentioned a new 1.8-liter turbocharged engine, but never disclosed its specs. The current Levorg generation maxes out at 2.0-liter turbo @ 300 hp (224 kW).

It is expected that the new Subaru Levorg will hit the showrooms in the second half of 2020, and the STI Sport will emerge next year.
