Alfa Romeos get a sporty upgrade in Europe, but no extra horses

The Euro-spec Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will soon be available in a new trim version called Performance. Owners will get to enjoy sportier handling and intelligent chassis features alongside some trim upgrades, but no added engine thrust.

Preorders are already processed in several countries, although full pricing details remain to be published. The package includes an electric/hydraulic suspension setup known as the Synaptic Dynamic Control, as well as an electronic control unit known as the Chassis Domain Control. The latter receives and processes real-time data from the suspension, the brake, the stabilizers and other relevant units to fine-tune the driving experience, making it sportier and more modern, according to the company.

Aside from these tweaks, buyers can look forward to carbon-fiber exterior trim bits, a red-and-black interior finish, new ergonomic seats and a high-end Harman Kardon audio system comprising 14 speakers.

Power staying unchanged means that both the Giulia Performance and the Stelvio Performance continue to rely on a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to deliver 284 PS (280 hp / 209 kW) to the wheels. For comparison, the range-topping Quadrifoglio spec introduces a superior 2.9-liter V6 rated at 512 PS (505 hp / 377 kW).
