Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 barn find goes for €200k

This 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 coupe has spent many years abandoned in a barn, but it was still worth €200,700 to a would-be restorer.

Ferrari produces this particular model from 1964 until 1967. It came equipped with a 4.0-liter V12 and was good for 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW). Fed by a trio of Weber carburetors, it could attain a top speed of around 240 km/h (150 mph). Very unusually for a Ferrari of that era, the GT 2+2 featured a spacious four-seat cabin trimmed in premium leather.

The Italian company found buyers for 1,099 examples. The pre-facelift Series I had a four-speed transmission and four headlights. In 1965, Ferrari upgraded the model to a five-speed transmission and just two headlamps.

The example seen here was exhibited at the Paris International Motor Show in the year it was built. It served as a safety car during the Le Mans season of 1966 and proceeded to change multiple owners, but never left France. Its last owner passed away in the 2000s, and the coupe has stood locked in a barn, abandoned, for two decades.

Work will have to be done before it can ride again. Even though the heirs of the departed owner fired up the engine of this Ferrari from time to time, it’s still in a poor condition from its age and needs a general overhaul.
