Are you sold on the Great Wall Cybertank?

Great Wall’s sub-brand Tank launched last month has something special to show at the Shanghai expo: a Tank 300 SUV dubbed “Cybertank”. Aside from being a thinly veiled video game reference, what does it have to offer?

Compared to the vanilla Tank 300 shown in the video here, the neon-lit concept has a glowing LED stripe inside the radiator grille, flared fenders, a front bumper with new DRLs, and LED headlights. It also rocks a hood scoop, forged wheels, roof-mounted lights, and a tailgate box instead of spare wheel. The cabin makes use of white leather and chrome accents instead of the usual black ones.

The powertrain stays stock, meaning the car still has 227 PS (224 hp / 167 kW) and 387 Nm (285 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal thanks to a two-liter turbo four-pot. An eight-speed auto transmission hits all four wheels thanks to three lockable differentials.

The regular Tank 300 starts from 175,800 Yuan in China. Will the Cybertank be released as a limited edition, or will it stay as a design study? We will learn on Monday, April 19, so stay tuned!
