Hummer H1 gets 1,014 PS of Tesla power

The all-electric GMC Hummer H1 is a thing that exists, but North American Electric Vehicles (NAEV) felt like building its own version of the battery-powered heavy truck based on the original H1 chassis.

The result is called the Executive Edition Cyber-Hummer and looks badass with new aluminum body panels and 20-inch aftermarket wheels wrapped in 37-inch all-terrain tires. It flaunts lots of additional lighting all around and has a custom front bumper with towing eyes in it.

Things look decidedly more mundane in the cabin, which offers little in terms of modern comforts aside from a Momo steering wheel and a 15-inch infotainment display. Then again. NAEV says it can throw in an audio system and retrim all the seats with quality eco-leather if you are interested.

For the powertrain, the classic Hummer relies on dual Tesla motors reportedly sending 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 746 kW) to both axles. The company quoted the 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint time at a dizzying 2.5 seconds, which honestly sounds a bit crazy for a truck weighing nearly four metric tons (over 8,000 lbs). The same goes for the range, which has been optimistically assessed at 483 km (300 miles).

The production of the truck begins later this summer. Buying one is available from $139,900 right now, but NAEV plans on adding two more affordable variants to the lineup later.
