VW Tayron goes into production in Germany
The Volkswagen industrial complex in Wolfsburg, Germany has just begun churning out Tayron SUVs.
The Tayron for Europe is essentially a stretched and otherwise redesigned Tiguan. It is joining the company of the VW Golf, Tiguan and Touran models on the Wolfsburg assembly line. The first vehicle to leave the premises last weekend was a 2.0-liter TDI (turbo diesel) spec.
You may be wondering about the older Tiguan Allspace model. It was indeed sold in Europe, but it was never made in Germany – Volkswagen imported it from its Mexico factory.
