Honda Ye P7 presents parameters

Honda introduced its mid-size electric CUV called the Ye P7 at the Beijing expo in April, and it is now almost ready for launch in China. Thanks to the local Ministry of Industry, we now know its main specifications.

The crossover is 4,750 mm (185.6 inches) long, 1,930 mm (75.4 in) wide and 1,625 mm (63.5 in) tall with 2,930 mm (114.5 in) between the axles. It has a 204-PS (201-hp / 150-kW) motor driving its front axle and a 272-PS (268-hp / 200-kW) motor at the rear axle.

Outfitted like this, the Ye P7 reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 4.6 seconds and bridges the gap from 80 to 120 km/h (50–75 mph) in 3 seconds. The battery comes from CATL, but we have yet to find out its capacity and range ratings.

If the name sounds familiar, it’s because the Honda Ye P7 shares its underpinnings with another car, the Ye S7. Both are based on the same platform known as the e:N Architecture W, have independent suspension, similar dimensions and wheelbase, and mostly differ in purely visual terms. Another major distinction is that the Ye P7 will be produced at Honda’s joint enterprise with GAC in China, whereas the S7 will be made at Honda-Dongfeng.

The interiors are quite similar, too, with a small dashboard installed close to the windshield, a three-spoke steering wheel, a large infotainment display and door-mounted side screens displaying the footage from rearview cameras.
