Beijing EU5 EV becomes EU5 Plus after facelift

The all-electric Beijing EU5 has been previously known as the Senova D50 and BAIC EU5, and is once more heading to the 2021 Auto Shanghai under a new name.

In its latest guise dubbed the EU5 Plus, the car sports some serious design changes, including a charging port that now resides in a front fender instead of the front fascia. Further tweaks can be observed in the areas of the trunk lid, slimmer taillights, and C-shaped headlights with rounded/perforated details.

The cabin features two touchscreens, as well as new seats, a different steering wheel, air deflectors, and HVAC.

The latest U5 model comes powered by a single electric motor good for 218 PS (215 hp /160 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. The facelift is unlikely to change anything in this regard, but the battery could become a bit larger.
