BMW X5 spawns a golden version for China

The BMW X5 Dark Flame is based on China’s stretched variant of the normal X5, and it is coming in a limited series of 1,000 units priced from 830,000 CNY – roughly 100,000 CNY above stock.

Compared to the standard X5 Long Wheelbase on that market, the Dark Flame features a unique navy-blue paintjob with golden accents on the radiator grille, the front air intakes, and the window bezels. It also rides on an exclusive set of 22-inch wheels.

The cabin is wrapped in black leather with golden stitching all around, an Alcantara headliner, and carbon-fiber accents. Four-zone climate control, ventilated seats and Harman-Kardon audio are already included in the spec.

From the technical point of view, it is a standard X5 xDrive40Li rated at 381 PS (376 hp / 280 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. A mild-hybrid powertrain based on a 3.0-liter inline-six engine drives all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Adaptive air suspension, as well as BMW M exhaust and brakes cater for a sporty ride.
