Volvo promises longevity for the XC90

The first generation of Volvo’s XC90 crossover had stayed in production for an impressive period of 14 years, and the company will have us know that the new one aims for the same.

The current XC90 generation came out a whole decade ago and received its second facelift a while back. However, a Volvo representative told a UK newspaper that the company was committed to producing and updating the flagship SUV for as long as there is enough demand.

Those looking for a state-of-the-art variant of the XC90 will have to turn their eyes toward the electric EX90. This approach is in line with Volvo’s recently adjusted electrification strategy: deliver cutting-edge EVs first, offer them alongside their ICE counterparts until those get updated, too.
