MG Majestor debuts in India

MG is attending the ongoing Bharat Mobility Expo with a new flagship SUV called the Majestor. Rather than being its own thing, the car is a Chinese Maxus D90 in disguise.

Coming in at 5.05 meters (197.3 inches) long, the MG Majestor is the company’s largest vehicle in the lineup. There are no technical details at this point, but the local media speculate that it may ship with a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine rated at 218 PS (215 hp / 160 kW). The transmission may be eight-speed automatic, and the drive can be either on the rear axle or both.

With a tall and boxy body, an upright radiator grille and immovable running boards, the Majestor looks like a cookie-cutter off-roader. Stacked headlights and a slim brake light strip at the back do freshen things up a bit, though.

The interior remains to be revealed. We expect a driver’s seat with massage, heating and ventilation features, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, three-zone climate control, 12-speaker audio system and adaptive cruise control integrated with other ADAS.
