Schumi’s Ferrari F355 crosses auction block

Michael Schumacher’s blue Ferrari F355 racer will be sold at a private auction in early February. The listing says that the legendary F1 driver got the car during his first Formula season for his Italian team back in 1996. It then proceeded to change hands, but still has a Ferrari Classiche certificate of authenticity. The price is unknown.

Not much is known about the car, either, aside from the fact that it has a manual transmission. Rumors indicate that Ferrari built a special powertrain for Schumacher, fine-tuning it to suit his exacting specifications. On the other hand, the Classiche certificate states that the powertrain is “stock”; whether this rules out factory tuning or not is unclear.

The German star driver proceeded to drive the F355 until 2002, mostly in and around Monaco according to reports. Once he sold the car in 2004, it has belonged to one and the same owner. They are now selling it after 21 years of ownership.

This particular Spider also has a rich history of auto show participation. It showed up at different kinds of automotive events and often made it onto magazine covers in Europe. The seller emphasizes that it has received proper maintenance all along, with the latest checkup conducted in September 2024.
