Ferrari Enzo poised to set an auction record

A Ferrari Enzo assembled in the summer of 2004 is up for sale in the Netherlands with 17,200 km (10,687 miles) on the odometer. That’s a lot of use for a Ferrari car, but the seller still wants €4,521,940 for it.

That amounts to $4,750,000 in American money. According to Autoevolution, the most expensive Enzo on record went for U.S. $4,400,000, so this one will break the record if it finds a buyer. It is a gorgeous car in a classical Rosso Corsa finish with a black leather interior. It helps that it belonged to only one owner all these years.

Ferrari made just 400 of these supercars, dedicating them to the founder of the company. When it debuted 23 years ago, the Enzo was considered the marque’s technological flagship. It made extensive use of Formula 1 technology, consisted largely of carbon fiber and packed a state-of-the-art 6.0-liter V12.

The naturally aspirated mill produced 660 PS (651 hp / 485 kW) and 657 Nm (485 lb-ft) of torque. An automated manual gearbox allowed it to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.65 seconds and ultimately reach 350 km/h (217 mph).
