Novelties
Genesis teased a GV60 facelift earlier this week, landing the electric SUV with a bigger battery and a larger twin display. It also got rid of “rugged” unpainted body trims.
Changes on the outside mostly boil down to revised bumpers, a tweaked radiator grille and new LED light patterns. The lower body trims are now finished to match the rest of the body, making the GV60 look a bit more like a normal hatchback than an SUV. New 21-inch wheels only reinforce the impression.
Inside, there is a new steering wheel and a 27-inch display panel composed of a dash cluster and an infotainment screen. Genesis hasn’t mentioned any other novelties yet, and we don’t see any, either.
The official launch event is still a few weeks away, the company says. Sales in select countries are slated to begin in the first quarter. The facelift model uses a larger 84-kWh battery pack instead of the old 77.4-kWh one, so it should have more range.
The original GV60 (see video) debuted in the fall of 2021. It is still on sale in single- and dual-motor variants ranging from 228 to 435 PS (225–429 hp; 168–320 kW). One of the EV’s more interesting features comes in the form of a mode called Drift, which actually allows you to send it sliding into corners.
