Jaguar GT shows its wild side during a photoshoot in Arctic

Jaguar has posted some images from the pre-production tests of its luxury-laden GT model in Arjeplog, Sweden. According to the engineering crew who tested the EV in temperatures reaching –40ºC (–40ºF), the production is almost upon us.

This is the same Jaguar GT that debuted as the Type 00 Concept to a highly controversial reception (see video). It rocks a massive front end despite having no conventional engine, lacks a rear window and rides surprisingly low for a production vehicle.

A trio of electric motors drive the wheels with a combined 1,000 horsepower (750 kilowatts) or more, with the precise numbers yet to be revealed. Jaguar Land Rover points out an extremely sophisticated electronic system on board that reacts to the changing road conditions in real time, adjusting parameters for the best driving experience possible.

It’s also official that no other Jaguar has been tested as exhaustively as the GT. The company claims its giant test vehicle fleet of 150 has already clocked in several hundreds of thousands of kilometers.

From previous news, we know that the automaker’s first EV is coming to us with active adaptive suspension, 23-inch wheels and a battery pack rated at 700 kilometers (435 miles) of range or so. More should be revealed in late 2026 when the premiere should take place.
