Osprey rolls out a gorgeous Land Rover Defender restomod in dark green

U.S.-based Osprey Custom Cars has produced yet another luxury SUV based on the five-door version of the Land Rover Defender. Let’s see what we are supposed to fork over nearly $250,000 for.

The biggest upgrade arguably resides under the hood. It’s the 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine pumping 436 PS (430 hp / 321 kW) and 576 Nm (425 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels. The transmission is six-speed automatic and works in tandem with a transfer case and an interaxle diff lock.

The chassis is also thoroughly revised with heavy-duty axles, Terrafirma shock absorbers and springs, improved steering rods and radius arms and a plethora of other mods. For the wheels, Osprey picked an 18-inch set of Icon7 rims shod in Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires.

The interior trim revolves around black and beige leather with occasional aluminum accents. The second seat row can be folded down, and four more paratrooper-style seats reside in the trunk area. The driver gets an infotainment system with a 7-inch display.

Finally, with only delivery mileage on the odometer, the restomod is practically new. The question is, would you say it’s worth its asking price?
