The Rolls-Royce Spectre Black Badge is the company’s most powerful car ever

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the ultimate version of its Spectre EV. In its Black Badge guise, the coupe is good for 659 PS (650 hp / 485 kW) and 1,075 Nm (793 lb-ft) of torque – a new high for the British company.

A special button labeled “Infinity” on the steering wheel can be used to unlock the peak power and accelerator response. The torque is another matter still – to take advantage of the highest values available, drivers must switch the car into Spirited Mode first (a launch control of sorts). It is done by simultaneously stepping on the accelerator and brake pedals.

In its fastest form, the Black Badge Spectre reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from standstill in 4.1 seconds. That’s roughly 400 milliseconds faster than the stock EV can do.

Rolls-Royce also points out chassis improvements. Superior shock absorbers help minimize nods during rapid acceleration and braking. In turn, steering and ESP tweaks result in less rolling in curves.

Like any other Black Badge vehicle, this one comes finished in all black (the color is called Vapour Violen) and rides on 23-inch wheels. The interior is particularly deluxe, with infinity symbol motifs and exotic carbon-fiber trims all around. The carbon weave patterns used are some of the rarest, the company points out.
