Jaguar XJS packs 670 PS in one of its boldest forms yet

UK-based tuning firm Tom Walkinshaw Racing has introduced a new project car. It’s called the TWR Supercat and represents a thoroughly modded Jaguar XJS with a supercharged V12 under the hood.

The car looks like a track weapon thanks to a full body kit penned by none other than Khyzyl Saleem, bespoke forged wheels, and active aerodynamic bits. The fenders are flared by 182 mm (7.1 inches), resulting in the whole body being 1,975 mm (77.2 inches) wide.

Inside, only the front seat row remains, but there is no roll cage in the back. Instead, TWR proposes using the space as a large trunk for long-distance trips. Quality leather and carbon fiber all around are complemented by aluminum accents.

The stock V12 under the hood has been completely overhauled, stroked out to 5.6 liters of volume, equipped with a dry sump and upgraded with new heads, camshafts and valves for maximum reliability. Thanks to these costly modifications, it can rev up to a cool 7,750 RPM.

A six-speed manual transmission carries 669 PS (660 hp / 492 kW) and 730 Nm (538 lb-ft) of torque to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. A tubular subframe helps keep the chassis rigid, and carbon-ceramic brakes ensure adequate handling under all conditions. The driver can choose from five drive presets and take advantage of traction control.

Only 88 examples of the TWR Supercat will be made and offered from £225,000, donor XJS not included.
