Xiaomi gets ready for international expansion

According to CnEVpost citing its own sources, Xiaomi’s automotive branch has been doing plenty of recruiting to start selling cars outside of China. Just when it may happen remains unannounced.

The Chinese IT corporation has been hiring project managers, post-sale service workers and marketing specialists for offices outside of China. Most recently, it has also been expanding its self-driving tech department. Reports say that the goal is to offer individualized ADAS solutions for each market, making sure they stay efficient while complying with the legislation in each individual case.

Just when this expansion may start is still unknown. In all likelihood, the company will want to ship its EVs where it already has branch offices, like Barcelona and Paris. It has already advertised its SU7 sedan in both cities.

According to unofficial reports, Xiaomi plans to start with low inventory, only stocking up on EVs where there is enough demand and shutting down any underperforming dealerships.
