Does the retro-futuristic look of this Toyota bZ4X appeal to you?

Toyota tuning experts over at Modellista decided to experiment and see what the modern Toyota bZ4X EV could look like if it was released in the distant 1980s. The result was exhibited at the Tokyo Auto Salon – and it’s quite impressive.

The styling package is known as the Concept Zero and starts with a low-drag three-spoke wheel set. It also redesigns the whole body to better integrate the fenders with the quarter panels and adds generous side skirts. A curved LED light appears in both bumpers, possibly as a homage to neon lights of the past, and the rear diffuser gets extended by a little bit.

The interior boasts a laconic hi-tech aesthetic with neat ambient lighting, special graphics and the tuner’s badges all around. Things stays untouched under the hood.

It is unknown whether these styling components will go on sale anytime soon, but we suppose they may – the bZ4X is ripe for a facelift, and Modellista usually times its releases to coincide with facelifts.
