$18.5k turns your Cybertruck into an expedition vehicle lookalike

U.S.-based Tesla specialist Unplugged Performance has launched a wide range of new options and accessories for the entry-level, dual-motor variant of the Cybertruck. Installed all together, they make the 3-tonne (6,600-lb) electric pickup look like a capable off-roader, tempting drivers to take it so far that no recovery vehicle will ever reach it.

The package starts with geometrically optimized front and rear bumpers promising better approach and departure angles. They are accompanied by a carbon-fiber trim piece for the front end where the hood usually is, skid plates all around, and heavy-duty side sills. An expedition rack also appears on the roof, and grids for tethering various gear and equipment appear to both sides of the bed. Last but not least, a LED bar gets installed above the windshield for nighttime driving.

A full package will set you back $18,500, it seems. Owners can opt for 20-inch aftermarket wheels wrapped in off-road tires ($3,200) and consider an even more powerful lighting setup for driving in all weather conditions ($7,000).

Since the dual-motor Cybertruck lacks the technological sophistication of its senior cousins, it can be further optioned with a sway bar, off-road shock absorbers, and heavy-duty brakes. You will need to contact Unplugged Performance for the pricing details.

Meanwhile, the cheapest new Cybertruck available right now starts from just under $70,000 and sends 608 PS (600 hp / 447 kW) to its four wheels.
