Porsche Sells Stakes in Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Group

Porsche has completed the sale of its interests in Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Group. This transaction is expected to generate approximately €1 billion in proceeds for the German automaker.

The deal concludes Porsche's ownership of a 45-percent stake in Bugatti Rimac and a 20.6-percent stake in Rimac Group. A consortium led by HOF Capital, with BlueFive Capital among the investors, acquired these stakes. Rimac Group is expected to continue its involvement in the joint venture.

This sale follows a challenging period for Porsche, where sales revenue decreased by 9.5 percent and deliveries fell by 10.1 percent. Operating profit reportedly dropped from €5.64 billion to €413 million. The company incurred approximately €3.9 billion in extraordinary charges, with about €2.4 billion allocated to product strategy and company resizing, and further amounts for battery activities and U.S. tariffs. Porsche also noted softer demand in China and anticipates ongoing geopolitical challenges.

The proceeds from the sale are expected to improve Porsche's financial outlook. The company has adjusted its 2026 automotive net-cash-flow-margin forecast from 3–5 percent to 5.5–7.5 percent due to this deal. Porsche also plans to allocate €250 million of these proceeds toward pension obligations. The remaining funds could provide flexibility for product plan adjustments, cost reductions, and the development of gas, hybrid, and electric models.
