Alfa Romeo trims down Giulia and Stelvio lineups

Unofficial reports from Alfa Romeo dealerships in Europe suggest that the company will stop taking orders for the 2.0T Giulia and Stelvio models on May 31, 2025.

The news is even more dire for Quadrifoglio fans looking to get a car with a 2.9-liter V6 under the hood. The Giulia Quadrifoglio will allegedly be delisted in Europe in ten days – on March 30. The Stelvio Quadrifoglio will follow it on April 30.

We are told that excessively strict CO2 emission laws played a major role in discontinuing the flagship versions. Following some disastrous mismanagement from Stellantis, Alfa Romeo is in a desperate financial situation right now. Paying fines in the EU for failed emission targets won’t be sustainable for the brand.

Until the next generation debuts, the Italian sedan and SUV duo will be available exclusively with a 2.2-liter diesel engine under the hood, and no alternatives. It might sound odd, but official certification data suggests it actually produces less CO2 than its petrol counterparts.
