Brabus Bodo sheds roof for €77k on top of its standard €1M

This spring, famous German tuning company Brabus honored the memory of its founder – Bodo Buschmann – by launching a 1,000-horsepower supercar called the Bodo. It snapped from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) and cost a million euros before options. A cabriolet version has now arrived, claiming no performance difference from its coupe counterpart.

Production plans exist for 77 units, each priced from €1,077,000. While Brabus doesn’t state so outright, the car apparently rides on Aston Martin underpinnings. Its all-carbon bodywork is completely new, though, with only Vulcan-style taillights to remind you of the donor.

Power for the wheels comes from a 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbocharged to deliver 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) along with up to 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque. As a result, the company claims that the top speed remains unchanged from that of the coupe variant. That’s 360 km/h (223 mph), by the way – going past “hair-pulling” and straight into “neck-snapping”.

On the outside, the Brabus Bodo Cabriolet can be easily recognized by its unique radiator grille adorned with the tuner’s letter B, the aforementioned Vulcan brake lights and an active rear spoiler. The aerodynamic part spends most of its time generating downforce, but quickly flips into air-brake mode should the owner step on the brake pedal at 140 km/h (87 mph) or higher. As for the cloth top, it reportedly takes less than 15 seconds to raise or lower.

The supercar is available in two color themes: black and light cream a.k.a. Silk Stone. The cabin follows the same theme with its top-notch natural leather upholstery and strategically placed carbon-fiber accents.
