Car Tuning

$41k buys you an 800-HP supercar sewn together from 4 ‘Vettes

A real eye-catcher has surfaced on sale in the USA this week. Working with a normal Chevy C5 Corvette, the owner outfitted it with all kinds of parts taken from generations C3, C6 and C7.

The result is a wild mashup of several cars that looks closest to the old-school C3 – but it’ still a stretch to say so. It has a massive front splitter, pop-up headlights, a rear spoiler and a giant track-ready rear diffuser made from carbon fiber. Coilovers in the suspension help with the low stance, and Ridetech roll bars keep the body stable in corners.

To look at this Frankencar, you may think it’s mostly for show, but it’s not. A custom 6.0-liter LS V8 fitted with dual turbos, an MSD Airforce intake, a new throttle body and a high-end fuel pump outputs 811 PS (800 hp / 596 kW) to the rear wheels through a 6MT. The seller even claims the engine was detuned, implying that you can take it further but not saying how much.

Inside, the steering wheel and the seats come from Sparco. The front panel is trimmed with carbon fiber, and the instruments are modern. The owner says nothing about the mileage, but claims that the build is street-legal.
