Ford CEO raises alarm over Chinese EV battery tech superiority
Shortly after gushing praise over the accomplishments of Chinese automakers, Ford boss Jim Farley has followed up with a claim that the United States run a whole decade behind China in battery R&D.
He once again stressed that American car companies needed to start looking for ways to cooperate with their Chinese counterparts, especially to gain access to their innovative battery technologies and solutions.
In Farley’s words, a temporary bond with China’s automobile industry leaders is crucial for the U.S. domestic brands to start to compete with them, and ultimately surpass them.
