Kia EV4 bows in Korea, Europe set to follow

Kia has shed light on the main technical specifications of its EV4 sedan and hatchback.

Both cars have a wheelbase spanning 2,820 mm (110.16 inches), but the sedan is noticeably longer at 4,730 mm (184.77 in) versus the hatchback’s 4,430 mm (173.05 in). It allows for a larger trunk size in the sedan version – 490 liters, or 17.3 cubic feet, as opposed to 435 liters (15.36 cu. ft.).

For the time being, the EV4 will be available exclusively with a front-mounted electric motor rated at 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW). Other powertrain options may follow later. The battery pack can be either 58.3 or 81.4 kWh large. The car needs 7.4 seconds for its standard 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint with the smaller pack and 7.7 seconds with the bigger pack.

Ranges amount to 430 km (267 miles) for the standard sedan and 630 km (391 miles) for the extended battery pack. The hatchback gets 410 km (255 miles) and 590 km (366 miles), respectively. Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent should take half an hour on average, as long as you can find a sufficiently powerful charging point.

Rumor has it the Kia EV4 will go on sale in South Korea in a few days or weeks. The company said it was primarily designed for the European markets, so it should arrive there in several months. The USA may or may not get it in 2026; Kia still hasn’t voiced any clear plans for this model.
