Mitsubishi to Reveal Outlander Diamond Trail Edition at SEMA

Mitsubishi is set to unveil an off-road-focused Outlander Diamond Trail Edition at the upcoming SEMA trade show. This new trim, expected for the 2028 model year, aims to enhance the Outlander's presence in the compact-SUV segment.

The Diamond Trail Edition will feature rugged bodywork, all-terrain tires, and specialized approach and departure angles. It will also include a Rock drive mode, designed to improve traction and automatically activate Hill Descent Control. Exterior modifications include a matte black grille, redesigned bumpers, aggressive fender flares, raised roof rails, and 18-inch black alloy wheels with Nexen Roadian ATX tires. A new Trail Green Metallic paint color will also debut with this edition.

Inside, the vehicle will have dark gray seats with khaki stitching, complemented by matte black, chrome, and satin finishes. Special Diamond Trail Edition logos will be present on the seatbacks, floor mats, and door trim. This Outlander is one of six vehicles Mitsubishi plans to showcase at SEMA as part of its Momentum 2030 project, which emphasizes developing more rugged vehicles to boost the brand's North American presence.

While specific pricing and release dates are not yet announced, the Diamond Trail Edition is expected to be positioned above the current Outlander Trail Edition, potentially starting above $45,000 when it becomes available in 2028.
