Audi Q6 e-tron gains a Sportback modification

The coupe-like Q6 Sportback e-tron is said to experience less drag than the original e-SUV, giving it more range per charge. Once it reaches the market in Europe, it will be available from €65,900.

A smoother, low-profile body inspired by the first Audi TT generation along with a 37mm (1.5-inch) reduction in ride height allow the Q6 Sportback e-tron to have a low drag ratio of 0.26 (down from 0.28). As a result, the electric car can now do up to 656 km (407 miles) per charge – class-leading performance, according to the manufacturer.

The base spec features a single 252-PS (249-hp / 185-kW) engine and an 83-kWh battery pack with 75.8 kWh of usable capacity. It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7 seconds flat with launch control on.

The RWD Performance version ramps up the battery size to 100 kWh (useful 94.9 kWh) and the output to 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW). There is still only one motor, though, so the sprint still takes a somewhat sluggish 6.6 seconds.

The Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro leverages dual motors and 387 PS (382 hp / 285 kW) to reach the same acceleration in 5.9 seconds. Finally, the range-topping SQ6 Sportback e-tron delivers 489 PS (482 hp / 360 kW) to the asphalt and hits 100 k/h in 4.3 seconds.

Depending on the battery size of this flagship spec, the range can vary from 545 to 636 km (338–395 miles). The top speed amounts to 230 km/h (143 mph). Charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent takes just 22 minutes as long as the source is powerful enough. Audi rates some versions of the coupe/SUV at 225 kW and others at 270 kW max, so have a closer look at the charging current when choosing one.

The Audi factory in Ingolstadt, Germany will handle the production. Prices will begin from €71,900 for the Performance version, €77,100 for the quattro, and €96,200 for the SQ6 Sportback e-tron quattro.
