Toyota announces Corolla FX for the USA

The Corolla FX nameplate is coming to North America, but the production will be (somewhat) limited.

The special edition is inspired by the Corolla FX16 from the late 1980s. It’s based on the entry-level SE trim, improving upon it with a black rear spoiler, white 18-inch wheels and three exterior finish options to choose from. The interior gets sports seats with Alcantara inserts and contrast stitching.

Just like the regular Corolla SE, the FX packs a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine and a CVT. It makes the standard 171 PS (169 hp / 126 kW). Toyota says only 1,600 examples will be made, and the orders will be processed starting this autumn.
