Cadillac axes the XT6

Despite the recent revisions in the General Motors electrification strategy, Cadillac seems to stay committed to EVs, retiring one ICE car after another.

The XT6 is officially set to leave production before the end of 2025, leaving no successor. The seven-seat SUV enjoyed a 5.8% YoY growth in 2024 with 20,225 examples sold. This growth continued into 2025 with 4,778 units sold, meaning a 3.7% increase over the first quarter of 2024.

If we had to guess, we’d say Cadillac wanted the XT6 out of the way of its much more expensive Vistiq EV, which belongs in the same vehicle class. The Vistiq is slated to go into production at the same Tennessee factory where the XT6 is currently being made.
