Having revealed its all-electric Galaxy TT saloon, Geely has now announced a particularly powerful variant of it named the Ultra. It will get a limited “Global Racing Edition” that will compete with Xiaomi’s own SU7 Ultra.
In the gallery above, the TT Ultra looks marginally more aggressive than the stock version thanks to a reshaped front bumper, an imitated rear diffuser and an active rear wing included as part of the standard trim. The Global Racing Edition tops the list with carbon-fiber trim bits and sporty red accents.
The powertrain comprises two e-motors together rated at 578 PS (570 hp / 425 kW) and a 75.2-kWh battery pack. The Ultra version is capped at just 210 km/h (130 mph), but the Global Racing Edition gets a boost feature that enables it to go faster for 20 seconds or so. All details remain to be revealed, though.
Other noteworthy features include up to 650 kilometers (404 miles) of range, innovative multi-piece forged wheels, and heavy-duty four-piston brake calipers at all four corners. The suspension isn’t just active and adaptive but also predictive – which is to say, it scans the road ahead and fine-tunes itself accordingly. A peek inside reveals seats with enhanced lumbar support, red leather upholstery, and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Naming flagship EVs “Ultra” has been a bit of a fad in China lately. Xiaomi’s own SU7 Ultra vastly surpasses the Galaxy TT Ultra on paper with up to 1,548 PS (1,527 hp / 1,140 kW) going to the wheels. That’s almost three times as much power as the TT Ultra. On the other hand, these numbers often tend to be exaggerated and only available under certain narrow conditions, like a 100% charged battery pack. Only time will tell how the models match up.
