Concept Cars
The Japanese car magazine reports that Honda will be making a production car out of its all-electric Sports EV Concept shown four years ago.
Back at the time, no one knew whether the company would ever bring that prototype to the market, but it now seems to be real. According to the report, the car will be based on Honda e platform, RWD system and powertrain palette. It will pack the same 35.5-kWh traction battery and ship with two electric motors to choose between – 136 PS (134 hp/ 100 kW) and 154 PS (152 hp / 113 kW). The WLTP-rated range of the E model amounts to 220 km, or 136 miles.
When the carmaker unveiled the show car, it mentioned an intelligent package of features capable of memorizing the habits of the driver and the passengers to offer everyone a customized experience. The interior was never shown, but a few guests of the show reported seeing a huge infotainment display inside.
Honda will be discontinuing ICE-powered car sales in Europe, leaving only electrified and full-electric models on the lineup.
