Chevrolet Silverado EV gains range, drops price

Chevrolet has announced two major additions to the all-electric Silverado truck lineup that should make it both more affordable and more pleasant to use.

Right now, the EV version is only available in a special trim called RST First Edition. It starts from U.S. $96,495 and has a manufacturer-rated range of 708 kilometers (440 miles). This trim will no longer be available in the next model year, but the “normal” RST spec will remain, priced from $89,395.

Buyers of the 2025 Silverado EV will be offered a new spec called LT, which will start from $75,195. It will utilize two e-motors jointly rated at 654 PS (645 hp / 481 kW) and 1,036 Nm (764 lb-ft) of torque. Depending on other trim choices, it will have between 628 and 657 km (390–408 miles) of range.

Corporate customers will enjoy access to the cheapest trim called Work Truck. It will start from $57,095 and output 517 PS (510 hp / 380 kW) to the wheels. Chevrolet avoids mentioning the standard range, but points out that Extended Range and Max Range option packs will be available. The former will extend the range to 679 km (422 miles) and the latter to 792 km (492 miles), which the company calls “best in class”.

The Max Range battery pack will later make its way into a still-unnamed Silverado EV flagship. All we know about that one is that it will have more than 760 horsepower (500 kilowatts) and up to 740 km (460 miles of range). When it may get released is unknown.

Finally, Chevrolet has plans for an off-road version of the Silverado EV called “Trail Boss”. There are no further details at this point.
