Car Tuning

Novitec puts some further polish on Ferrari’s latest-and-greatest

The part-electric Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale is more car than most drivers can handle, but the ambitious and talented tuners from Novitec still decided to squeeze more performance out of it for the most demanding owners out there.

A very deliberately designed exhaust system let the stock V8 on board produce another 30 PS (29 hp / 21 kW) and 36 Nm (27 lb-ft) of torque thanks to a higher flow rate. As a result, the V8 alone now churns out 827 PS (816 hp / 608 kW) and 840 Nm (620 lb-ft). Stock e-motors raise the total to 1,060 PS (1,045 hp / 780 kW).

What’s particularly impressive is that the new exhaust remains strictly road-legal in the EU thanks to an innovative 100-cell catalytic converter array. Those willing to max out both performance and safety are advised to grab gold-plated heat screens along with the main upgrade, to let the extreme heat produced by the car dissipate before it can potentially cause trouble.

On the outside, the tuned Prancing Horse is more or less what you’d expect from Novitec. It rides on flashy Vossen NF11 forged wheels and sits 25 mm (1 inch) lower than stock. Surprisingly enough, Novitec decided not to mess with the car’s original body kit, arguing that it was really good enough. The OEM kit produces up to 530 kilos (1,168 lbs) of downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph), making it Ferrari’s highest-downforce kit ever unless you count the recently introduced F80. We do respect Novitec’s decision to leave good enough alone!
