Rare, well-kept 1998 Panoz Roadster barely hits $41k

The Panoz AIV Roadster is one out of 176 ever made, and America’s first car made largely of aluminum.

The Panoz brand was registered in the year 1989. The AIV Roadster model went into production in 1996 and stayed there until 1999. Every example received 4.6-liter V8 sourced from a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. The naturally aspirated version delivered 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW), but Panoz installed it along with a supercharger. A five-speed manual transmission was tasked with driving the rear wheels.

Weighing in at a low 1,166 kilos (2,570 pounds), the car hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4.5 seconds and could ultimately reach 225 km/h (140 mph).

The example sold featured a dark red interior with light beige leather upholstery and imitation wood inserts. It had slightly more than 26,000 km (16,100 miles) on the odometer since production. The listing described its condition as great and fully drivable.
